Downtown Design Charrette – Day 1

What is a Design Charrette? A design charrette is a collaborative event during which designers brainstorm ideas for feedback from stakeholders during the event itself.

The downtown design charrette will take place over a period of two days (September 20 and 21). The consultant team will set up their studio in the Cole Art Center where they will brainstorm various downtown ideas and topics, including historic preservation, parking, event spaces, plazas, walkability, catalyst projects, etc. They will sketch out their ideas and then share that with staff, downtown business owners and stakeholders for their feedback at the end of each day.

Members of the public are welcome to stop by between 12pm and 2pm each day to observe the design team’s process of brainstorming and sketching out ideas.
